Anxiety Counselling Services

 

Anxiety shows up in our lives in many shapes and forms. We may experience anxiety around social situations, work-related issues, relationships or new beginnings.  We may experience its debilitating nature in many ways. We can enter a fight, flight or freeze response or even experience a feeling of dread come over us.

 

With so many different therapies out there, it is not unusual for a client to ask, What is the best type of therapy for anxiety and Panic attacks?  Or where can I find the best anxiety therapist near me? There are many different approaches and therapists, but what makes my Counselling Services unique is that I combine Reiki Therapy and  Transpersonal therapy alongside Anxiety Counselling.

 

My approach to dealing with anxiety is to allow you to unpack your experiences in a safe space at a pace that meets your needs. I will encourage and show you the importance of grounding techniques. I will also explore your thought process and help you to restructure your thoughts. I will work with you to encourage positive affirmation and help you cultivate a more positive thought process. We will work with meditation practices, breathing exercises, and choice therapy to calm the mind and explore other choices.

Stress Counselling Services


So often in my mental health therapy services, clients present with Stress and Fatigue. The body is exhausted and on the edge of burnout due to too many demands being put on it. These demands may be work-related, or we may actually expect more from ourselves. So often, I hear clients speak about working long hours or meeting others' demands and using their personal time to get ahead on projects, leaving very little time for life for family and friends. The result is that there is little to no work-life balance. A feeling of being out of control results, and the body screams out for help. Others may notice your stress and encourage you to talk to a therapist, but you find yourself asking What can a therapist do for me?

 

My Counselling Services help you explore your relationship with the feeling of “being out of control”. I can also help you explore boundaries. Saying “no” to yourself and others may be a very real problem for you. I can help you explore why that is and encourage you to explore your own limits and strengths and organise your life in a more meaningful way.

I can help you calm down your experiences with  Reiki, which is a powerful tool for helping manage stress and anxiety.

Relationship Counselling Services


 Clients often seek help with navigating relationships with Family members, their friends and even their co-workers.  We often seek to please others to be accepted, but then we ourselves begin to suffer. So often, I hear clients talk about how they sit on the edge of groups, afraid to speak up for fear of judgment. The result is they feel small, their voice becomes weak, and they think they have nothing valuable to offer.  Their self-esteem suffers. The underlying problem results in other expectations challenging us, and we struggle to set boundaries, or we may feel undervalued and invisible.

 

Here at my Counselling services, we will gently explore how others' expectations are impacting your life. We will look at communication styles and setting boundaries. We will look at the choices that are available to you. Self-esteem and how we might help improve it can also be explored.  We will reflect on how we communicate with ourselves and develop a sense of self-compassion.

How long is a Counselling Session and how many do I need?



Sessions are 1 hour long, and when booking a session, please be mindful that my cancellation policy requires 24 hours'

notice for any cancellations. Generally, clients attend weekly or fortnightly and the number of sessions is up to you. Receipts are available for Laya and VHI customers.
